To the right is a picture my father took in 1963, of my mom and brother in Fawnskin. Mom was about 7 or 8 months pregnant with me. We went to Fawnskin often to eat and enjoy Big Bear lake. It was once a happening place with 1950's cars out front and plenty of places to go into for lodging or food. A few years ago this building was under renovation but that soon stopped when foundation issues came up. It still sits on the Northshore side of the lake as an iconic location where many stayed the night and got a bite to eat while walking around this little village on the picturesque side of Big Bear Lake. This is a location where the eagles are protected and filming crews like CSI have come to film episodes like "Jackpot Nevada".
